{"id":558,"date":"2016-11-14T01:05:38","date_gmt":"2016-11-13T23:05:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.moore-bdr.sk\/?p=558"},"modified":"2021-08-11T13:30:44","modified_gmt":"2021-08-11T11:30:44","slug":"zmeny-v-socialnom-poisteni-od-1-januara-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.moore-bdr.sk\/en\/zmeny-v-socialnom-poisteni-od-1-januara-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"Changes in social insurance effective 1 January 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The Slovak parliament approved an amendment to Act No. 461\/2003 Coll. on Social Insurance as amended (\u201cSocial Insurance Act\u201d) on 11 October 2016, which introduces several important changes.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b>The primary change<\/b> effective 1 January 2017 <b>is an increase in the amount<\/b> of the assessment base from 5-times to 7-times the average monthly wages, from <b>4,290 EUR to 6,181 EUR<\/b>. <i>This increase involves<\/i> the maximum assessment base for <i>trade license holders <\/i>and other <i>sole proprietors<\/i>. A maximum assessment base of 6,181 EUR <b>will also be applied for <\/b>employees and employers effective 1 January 2017. The Social Insurance Act ultimately <b>does not directly define<\/b> the maximum level of statutory contributions to Social Insurance to be paid by employers, employees, trade license holders and other sole proprietors.<\/p>\n<p><b>The amendment of the Act stipulates<\/b> the maximum daily assessment base for calculating salary compensation for the employee benefits for temporary incapacity and sickness leave (sickness benefits, care benefits, equalisation benefits and maternity).
